ErieKIDS announces "In the Middle".

A multi-organization collaboration, ErieKIDS is once again in production for yet another children's mental health video. This video highlights the issue of depression and it's symptoms as a young student struggles with a divorce. The perennial cast of the "ErieKIDS", "Dr. Feelgood" and "Nurse Penelope"  once again are featured along with a new talented group of young actors. As always, this movie will have a hip-hop urban feel and is targeted for children Pre-K through 6th grade.

About the Movie:

Ari is not unlike any other 14 year old girl. She’s a good student, well-behaved; an all around good kid.  But Ari’s life is turned upside down when she learns that her parent’s marriage is ending in a divorce.

This chapter in the ErieKIDS “Emotional Intelligence” series highlights depression as a result of a difficult divorce. Our lead character demonstrates typical depressive symptoms as she endures the impact of divorce on her sense of stability, predictability and safety. While sensitive to such a difficult subject, ErieKIDS has not shied away from the realities of the conflict.

Sadness and Anger, the two most prevalent symptoms of depression are highlighted in this short film. “Dr. Feelgood”, a perennial character in the ErieKIDS movies helps to both highlight the symptoms of depression and methods that kids can use to help themselves cope better.  Finally, the ErieKIDS characters play a pivotal role in the resolution of Ari’s struggle.
